For starters, what is that they refuse to eat?

I am most concerned with vegetables. They do not eat those at all. I guess i shouldn't say they are picky, mom lacks imagination sometimes.

Oh ya- and this isn't my official entry, but- a good alternative for when they don't eat veg. is to puree, lets say spinach and add it to a fruit smoothie or to the spaghetti sauce that you made for dinner. I think veggies are hard for everyone- especially the green ones ( you know the best for you) Let me look for some recipes

Well, I like some of the recipes in that book by Jerry Seinfield's wife. They hide a lot of vegatables in foods. Another thing I will do is add corn to dishes and sometimes they won't even notice it. But corn really isnt the best veg. Veg are a tricky one. The kraft magazine you can get to come to your house. They have alot of fast kid friendly lunch and dinner ideas. I use that a lot too. I tell Daxton he is a dinosaur when he eats brocolli and he has to go attack the forest and eat all the trees. It works everytime for him. Sorry other than that I am out of ideas.

My kids have all seemed to really like rice & stir fry (which involves whatever vegetables you want to include...we usually do broccoli, carrots, green beans and/or water chestnuts). With the veggies I put chunks of chicken so I at least no they are getting some protein. Maybe if you start slowly and say that they MUST eat at least 5 vegetables they will LEARN to like it more.

Thanks- Stacey

My sister says that Jerry Sienfeld's wife (I know random) has a really good book out called "deceptively delicious" It is all about hiding veggies in your kids food, but also teaching them how to eat them, etc. Her name is Jessica Seinfeld. Try it out and let me know... my kid has about a year and a half or so til I have to try!

my little stinker is picky too. I make lots of homemade soups and he loves it though. I love that fall is basically here because its the perfect time to do Minestrone, chicken noodles, stews, butternut squash soups. They taste super yummy and are way loaded with veggies. A secret snack is to take cottage cheese, 1 tbs olive oil and a ranch packet. You blend it and it makes a yummy ranch dip. Then they can dip lots of carrots, celery and cucumber it it. You wont feel guilty about using it as a condiment because it is super loaded with cream cheese. Fig Newtons and nutrigrain bars are Cannon's favorite. At costco we loooooove this http://images29.fotki.com/v290/photos/4/41575/5499565/crispsapple-vi.jpg. Its the equivalent of 1 1/2 apples a bag and they taste like candy (no added sugars or preservatives). I also load Cannon's grilled cheese with low sodium deli turkey meat to add more protein (and I use wheat bread). Cannon will eat high protein, veggies and fruit if I give him dip. Target has organic condiments that don't have high fructose corn syrup in them- so they wont be bad for your kiddo's. I also have some really healthy high protein dips and recipes if you want. Just send me an email and I can hook you up-

ttyl and good luck!

hummm, here are some of my silly ideas, try food coloring to make things look different or add marshmellows or a spcial sauce to it or make it look like something one of their favorite super heros eats, ellas only two but i tell her curious george eats it and it goes down! or i have the deseptively delisous book too and there are some great ideas with purees in there too! mostly just remember to keep offering it to them the experts supposidly say sometimes it take like 25 times of them trying it to aquire the taste and dont turn it into a battle of wills of the will never eats LOL! good luck!

looks like everyone wants to win that prize! I just made the yummiest pizza tonight and it was loaded with veggies. My kids couldn't get enough. Aaron had 4pieces and Charlotte had 3. Charlotte is my pickiest eater and will often skip dessert so she doesn't have to eat her veggies. Anyway, it's really good, and really healthy (if you think cheese is healthy) let me kmow if you want the recipe
